Cemal Sedat Dayıoğlu

Cemal Sedat Dayıoğlu was born in 1959, in Istanbul.

Having completed his primary education at Macka Primary School and his high school studies at Terakki Foundation Private Sisli Terakki High School, Cemal Sedat Dayıoğlu pursued a part of his graduate studies in France.

He studied French Philology at Besançon University, Faculty of Literature prior to his LLB studies at Strasbourg University, Faculty of Law. Later on, he completed his LLB studies at Istanbul University Faculty of Law and he graduated from Istanbul University Faculty of Law in 1985.

Admitted to the Istanbul Bar under 14288 bar member number, Cemal Sedat Dayıoğlu actively practices law at his own law firm, DAYIOĞLU LAW FIRM & INTERNATIONAL ADR CENTER, of which he is the managing partner, since 1986.

He provides legal consulting services in French and in English.

In 2017, having completed his Mediation Certification Course in Labour Law, Cemal Sedat Dayıoğlu became mediator admitted to the List of Mediators of the Mediation Department of the Turkish Minsitry of Justice, under 4120 mediator number. In the same year, he founded a Mediation Center. As General Accredited Mediator and Certified Employment-Law Mediator he provides efficient and speedy resolution to employment law disputes and business-related disputes.

Extracurricular Activities

Alongside his career, Cemal Sedat Dayıoğlu engages in social activities. He is the founder and the Vice President of the Foundation Gulten Dayıoğlu Children’s and Young Adult Literature. He happens to be founder and member of many associations and foundations such as Toothfriendly Association, Lions Aksaray, Sisli Police Services Development and Support Association, Yesilyurt Sports Club, Galatasaray Solidarity Foundation, Sisli Terakki Alumni Association, Istanbul University Alumni Association and Turkish Travellers Club. For two years he served as Board Member and Vice President of Sariyer Sports Club. In addition, since 1999, Cemal Sedat Dayıoğlu is member of Galatasaray Sports Club.

During presidential elections in 2018, he is nominated as Full Board Member Candidate in the group of the Presidential Candidate Ali Fatinoglu. In 2021, he is nominated as Full Board Member Candidate in the group of the Presidential Candidate Ibrahim Ozdemir.

Other Achievements

Among his hobbies there are motor sports, diving, surfing, yachting and skiing. Cemal Sedat Dayıoğlu won the first prize in 1995 Erzurum Dedeman Alpine Competition, the first and second prize in 1976 and 1977 French Universities Giant Slalom, nineth prize in 1987 Bodrum World Surfing Championship.

Having completed her primary education in Istanbul, her middle and high school education at Saint Benoît Private French High School, she studied LLB at Istanbul University Faculty of Law and graduted from Istanbul University in 1984.

Ece Dayıoğlu, FCIArb, FSIArb was born in 1991, in Istanbul.

Ece Dayıoğlu, FCIArb, FSIArb completed her primary education at Fevziye Mektepleri Foundation Private Nisantasi Isik Primary School and her high school education at Notre Dame de Sion French High School.

Having completed her LLB at Galatasaray University Faculty of Law, Ece Dayıoğlu, FCIArb, FSIArb graduated from Galatasaray University in 2014. She did her legal internship at DAYIOĞLU LAW FIRM & INTERNATIONAL ADR CENTER.

In the same year, Ece Dayıoğlu, FCIArb, FSIArb studied LLM in Business Law at Istanbul Bilgi University. Meanwhile she completed her legal internship and suspended her LLM studies before completing her thesis in order to pursue her LLM studies in Paris.

In 2016, Ece Dayıoğlu, FCIArb, FSIArb studied LLM in International Dispute Resolution and Economics Law at Queen Mary University of London during which she engaged in her dissertation on enforceability of arbitral awards in international investment arbitration involving state parties. She graduated from Queen Mary University of London in 2017.

In 2017, Ece Dayıoğlu, FCIArb, FSIArb studied Master II in Arbitration and International Commercial Law at Sorbonne University, followed by an arbitration internship at the International Chamber of Commerce ICC International Court of Arbitration. She graduated from Sorbonne University in 2017.

During her internship at the ICC, working with the Middle East and North Africa – MENA regional case management team, Ece Dayıoğlu, FCIArb, FSIArb undertook duties with respect to various arbitration cases and performed tasks such as appointment of arbitrators and scrutiny of the draft awards, she gained experience and developped insight on the ICC Arbitration and its practical aspects. She did a profound research on the grounds for arbitrator challenge and replacement as well as related Court decisions using the ICC database.

Ece Dayıoğlu, FCIArb, FSIArb attended certification courses on CIArb Introduction to International Arbitration, ICC Annual Summer Course on International Commercial Arbitration and ICC Online Dispute Resolution.

Sworn translator in English and in French, Ece Dayıoğlu, FCIArb, FSIArb carried out simultaneous interpretation during an ICC Arbitration hearing and performed witness examination.

Admitted to the Istanbul Bar under 52543 member number since December 2015, Ece Dayıoğlu, FCIArb, FSIArb got sworn in to the Paris Bar in November 2017, since then she provides legal consulting and legal representation services in Turkey and in France.

Ece Dayıoğlu, FCIArb, FSIArb practices law at DAYIOĞLU LAW FIRM & INTERNATIONAL ADR CENTER since 2018.

Ece Dayıoğlu, FCIArb, FSIArb completed her suspended LLM at Istanbul Bilgi University in 2022.

Ece Dayıoğlu, FCIArb, FSIArb is arbitrator accredited by Chartered Insititute of Arbitrators – CIArb and Singapore Institute of Arbitrators – SIArb at Fellow level. Among other arbitral institutions, she is empaneled with the SHAC (China), the RAC (Russia), the ISTA (Türkiye) and the BIAMC (Indonesia).

Ece Dayıoğlu, FCIArb, FSIArb is also listed mediator at the IMI (Netherlands), the SIMI (Singapore), the BIAMC (Indonesia) and Ministry of Justice (Türkiye).

Ece Dayıoğlu FCIArb, FSIArb has also taken up the position of EDAC Vice Secretary General. Energy Disputes Arbitration Center – EDAC, being the based in Turkey, is the first and only arbitral insititution which is sectoral-based in energy disputes with its own rules. She is member of Organizing Committee of Istanbul Arbitration Week – ISTAW, the first and only arbitration week in Türkiye.
